Dear CBBF viewers, with the final 2006 CBBF national event only a few days away, in fact the 2006 CBBF Canadian Bodybuilding Championships take place over two days, beginning on Friday, September 15th ending on Saturday, September 16th, in Saskatoon, SK; we are looking forward to the final CBBF event.
This year’s promoter is again Mr. Harvey Viteychuk, who is promising an outstanding two day event filled with Canada’s best amateur athletes and on Friday night another treat, IFBB Male Canadian Professional athletes will be competing on stage as well. An additional treat - Guest posers, IFBB Women’s Pro athletes Autumn Raby and Helen Bouchard.
Remember as well that the 2007 Canadians will once again be hosted by our good friend John Dirks, and will be promoted in Edmonton, AB on August 18th, 2007.
The 2006 CBBF National World Qualifier finished on Saturday, August 5th in Toronto, ON, promoted by Jim Morris and Norm Jacobs and we have finalized two of the three CBBF Team Canada contingent.
The Women’s team will be competing in September in Santa Susanna, Spain.
The following members consist of the 2006 CBBF Women’s Team:
Lightweight bodybuilder – Johanna Dejager – ON.
Middleweight bodybuilder – Shannon Holman – AB.
Short Fitness athlete – Nathalie Tabouillet – PQ.
Short Fitness athlete – Allison Black Stirling – AB.
Tall Fitness athlete – Marnie Holley – ON.
Short Body Fitness athlete – Lauren Jacobsen – ON.
Medium Body Fitness athlete – Michelle Hiebert – MB.
Medium Tall Body Fitness athlete - Brigitte Levesque – PQ.
Tall Body Fitness athlete – Kim Tilden – ON.
The Men’s team will be competing in October in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
The following members consist of the 2006 CBBF Men’s Team:
Bantamweight bodybuilder – Denis Pedneault – PQ.
Super Heavyweight bodybuilder – Kevin Ferrell – ON.
Short Classic bodybuilder – Ron Gonzales – SK.
Tall Classic bodybuilder – Guy Bourgon – ON.
The Junior, Master and Grandmaster team is in the process of finalizing.
We wish all the above athletes the best at the various IFBB Amateur World Championships.
In addition this past weekend promoter Joe Spinello provided an outstanding IFBB Montreal Men’s Pro Bodybuilding and Pro Figure event.
Many of the top athletes were from Canada, with Nina Luchka taking 3rd place in the figure and guaranteeing herself entry into the 2006 Ms. Figure Olympia.
Debbie Lung was 4th, Martha Lombardo was 6th, Lucie Bergeron was 7th, Lisa Taylor was 9th and Christine Mehling was 10th.
Congratulations to all of Canada’s figure athletes.
The men’s bodybuilding event consisted of the following Canadian athletes – Mike Aseidu was 6th, Paul Dillett was 10th, Henderson Thorne was 14th, with Reza Amin Torabi, Fedel Clarke and Simon Voyer taking 16th with Claude Groulx not finishing the event.
Again congratulations to the male Canadian competitors and another excellent promotional undertaking by Joe.
To all the athletes taking part in the upcoming Canadians we wish you the best and know that Harvey will continue providing an outstanding event.
