2007 Media Standards for CBBF National Events

Canadian Bodybuilding Federation Media Standards for CBBF National Events 2007

The Canadian Bodybuilding Federation appreciates the media interest generated by our three CBBF national events and acknowledges the important contribution that the media has made to the promotion the Sport of Bodybuilding, Fitness, and Figure (Body Fitness).

In order to ensure that the official weigh-ins, prejudging and finals of our national events are conducted in a consistent, orderly and timely manner the following rules have been implemented.
  1. Media personal shall not be permitted to distribute information packages inside the official weigh-in room.
  2. Information packages may be:
    1. Distributed outside the official weigh-in room following the exit of athletes or
    2. Provided to the designated CBBF official for placement on the seats inside the official weigh-in room, prior to the weigh-ins.
  3. Information Packages must be provided to the designated CBBF official no later than 20-minutes prior to the official weigh-ins.
  4. Interviews with athletes shall not be permitted inside the weigh-in room. Interviews are permitted outside of the weigh-in room, after the athlete has concluded their complete weigh-in process and exited the official weigh-in room.
  5. The media may be permitted to take informal pictures during the weigh-in process, only after consulting the designated CBBF official.
  6. If it is determined by the CBBF that photographic activity is interfering with the weigh-in process all media personal will be asked to refrain from any further photography.
  7. Only designated CBBF photographers shall have access to backstage areas during events. All other photographers shall be excluded from backstage areas.
  8. Photography from the audience seating area is encouraged. However, only the official CBBF photographer will be permitted in the area directly behind the official CBBF judging panel.
  9. Should photographers or others venture in front of the judging panel during the event they will be instructed leave so as not to obstruct the view of the judging panel or if they situate themselves directly behind the judging panel they will also be instructed to leave so as not to interfere with the judging panel.
  10. The CBBF shall make available a complete list of athletes, their numbers and classes to the media prior to the prejudging of all CBBF national events.
  11. Prior to the weigh-ins, media personnel shall provide a completed CBBF National Events Press Application to the CBBF designated official in order to be permitted access to the weigh-in.
